Kim Fish started Veterinary Technical Institute back when Online Education was referred to as Distance Learning (before the days of the Internet), and training veterinary technicians remotely was practically unheard of. But it was necessary since few resources existed to help people develop the skills and knowledge base necessary to perform effectively as a technician. Today, the school operates a high-tech online learning platform designed to guide students through the successful development of concept comprehension and key hands-on skills. The end-goal is to make graduates well-prepared and employable in the veterinary field.

Unique to the VTI online learning philosophy is incorporation of Kim’s extensive background in veterinary practice operations and staff coaching techniques she provides through both her practice management consulting company, Advisors for Veterinary Clinic Success (AVCSuccess), and VetKey, her veterinary software provided by Vet Think Lab. She specializes in 8 other software systems, including AVImark, Cornerstone, DVMAX, and Infinity, and provides students opportunities to add software training to their curriculum.

I want to thank you for playing a big part in helping me to get into a career that I enjoy…  Your program is very good, and got me ready for the new challenges I would be facing at the clinic.

I thought the program, the instructor, and the presentation were excellent…It is because of  you all that I am happy with my [career] and place of employment.

Thanks again for all of your help with our practice this past year. You have really helped turned the staff around. I am very proud of their growth and success, and I could not have done that without your help!
